Authentic Japanese restaurant run by a husband and wife duo. Very limited hours -- opened from 6 -9pm. Reservations strongly recommended.
The chef choice ($30) for 10 pieces and 1 roll is a good deal considering the price of the individual nigiri, which ranges from $2-3 a piece. Would've preferred more variety in the nigiri - they all look like hamachi (yellowtail)...would've appreciated an explanation of what each piece was.
Come here for quality, not quantity. -

At 6pm no walkin taken, so make a reservation. There's ample parking side the building.
The Toro is very enjoyably fatty and foamier in texture than other places. Kanpanchi is also refreshing. Saba is too fishy stay away from that. BBQ squid, house roll, Hirame and scallop are just soso. Each piece is well proportioned with the rice and wasabi you don't really need to add wasabi to the soy sauce. The green tea and tea cups are artisanal, goes quite well with the sushi.
My friend and I each order different sushi by pieces, however they came in mixed on one plate and in the bill as well. Given this is a couple run shop I would not be too picky about it, but just so you know. -

Where do I even begin? I'm originally from toronto and just landed couple of hours ago. I heard the sushi scene in Vancouver was a must try. My cousin brought me here and they only take reservations; which means no walk ins.
We were seated by the bar where the chef was so we could see all the action. It's owned by this two Japanese couple! They are adorable! The menu is simple that includes most types of fish. I ordered the chef selection which was $30. Very reasonably priced! Boy! I rarely eat other fishes that are not salmon because of the fishy taste but every single fish he served me did not have a fishy taste. I also ordered more sushi. I ordered the scallop, amaebi, salmon and aburi (torched toro) gosh it was so yummy! Definitely going to come back here if I come back to Vancouver. -

It took me three phone calls to get a dinner appointment so we were definitely excited. And they didn't let us down at all! Great food, good service, what more to say. Though it was a team of only two people, the chef and the reception/server they did a great job and not even once did we felt lack of staff or attention. I totally recommend it for all occasions. Thankyou Guys!
